Job Stories From Centerville, WA
Damp Basement in Centerville, WA

This homes basement was damp and musty. The wet odors were wafting up into the living spaces and the homeowners were ready for a solution to protect their home against water issues. For this they called up John's Waterproofing. When we went out to do their free inspection we discovered water coming in around the below-grade windows, the exterior wooden beam wells had dirt and were rotting in a few places. To address the issue we replaced the window wells with a StackWell system which will not rot or mold. This also included digging to below the window and installing a drainage system for any water that does creep into this space. From the inside of the space we installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the interior perimeter to collect any water. This directs water to the newly installed TripleSafe sump pump which will then pump the water safely away from the homes foundation. We then installed our BrightWall panel system on the foundation walls, ensuring any water from the walls is guided down safely to the new drain system as well. As a final step we installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to ensure the moisture in the air is kept down.

Water in Basement - Centerville, WA

This homes basement had water getting into it, and the homeowners were concerned. They had placed fans around the basement to keep things dry, but they still had a considerable amount of old furniture and items stored here that could mold or mildew if the water problem persisted. To address this problem, John's Waterproofing was called up. We sent out a design specialist who did a full inspection, walking both inside and outside to assess the home and craft a solution made to solve the issues.

To begin on this project, we would need to address the below-grade windows. They all had window wells made from wood, and the wood was rotting, we upgraded these window wells and installed a drainage system for each window well. We then dug a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement. Here we laid in a bed of gravel and out WaterGuard drain system. This will collect groundwater as well the water that accumulates in the window wells and the water that runs down the walls. All water is guided by the drain system to the lowest point where a TripleSafe sump pump will then pump the water away from the home to a LawnScape outlet. The walls then had BrightWall panels installed on them. This provides a semi-finished look on the walls, and it is easy to clean, and will not mold or rot. It acts to safely guide water down the walls to the WaterGuard. We then installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the moisture content in the air at a healthy range. This space is now all set to remain dry and healthy.

Water Coming Through Foundation Walls - Centerville, WA

This homes basement had water creeping through the foundation walls and the homeowners were ready to get this issue addressed properly. They had tried a waterproof paint in the past, but that peeled and cracked open from water pressure. Now they called up John's Waterproofing to schedule their free inspection and hear about the options for their home.

To begin our work we used a jackhammer to dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement. Here, we laid in a bed of gravel and out WaterGuard drainage system. This will collect groundwater and water from the walls, grading it to a low point where a TripleSafe sump pump is installed. From there water is pumped safely out and away from the homes foundation to a LawnScape outlet. For the walls, we installed our CleanSpace wall vapor barrier, ensuring any water from the foundation walls is safely directed to the drainage system. As a final step we installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the air healthy. The homeowners are excited to have warranties to back the products and installation to ensure their basement remains dry and healthy.

Water Issues for Daylight Basement in Centerville, WA

This daylight basement had been partially finished. The hillside of the basement was left unfinished, housing the laundry room and storage space, with the other portion finished with a doorway to the backyard. The back portion had sprung a leak though. Small cracks had appeared and water was dripping in. The homeowners had mover the storage items away from the foundation walls to keep things drier, but knew the issue would need to be solved. They called up John's Waterproofing to get some help. Since water issues hadn't made it to the finished section of the basement, the homeowners opted to have just a partial system installed. They were informed that should that part begin having issues, we can add onto the system at any time.

To  begin helping, the crew dug a trench along the foundation wall, and laid in a bed of gravel with a WaterGuard drain system. This will collect the water and grade it along to a newly installed TripleSafe Sump pump, which then dispels the water safely away from the home. The wall was covered with BrightWall panels, these guide water from the walls to the drain system. They will not rot or mold, and they are easy to clean, giving a semi-finished look to the space. A SaniDry dehumidifier was installed and the space was completed. Should they wish to add onto the system we can always complete the drain system around to rest of the basement and add in ThermalDry radiant barriers to insulate and act as a vapor barrier for the finished spaces.

Water Weeping Through Basement Walls in Centerville, WA

This homes unfinished basement had water weeping through the foundation walls. This home was older, and the homeowners knew that water issues wouldn't get better, only worse. They called up John's Waterproofing after searching online and scheduled their inspection. We sent out a design specialist who did a full inspection, the main water issue was due to hydrostatic pressure, and a solution was drafted and accepted.

To begin addressing the homes water problems we dug a trench around the interior perimeter. Here we installed a bed of gravel with WaterGuard over this. This system is graded towards a low spot in the basement where we installed a TripleSafe sump pump to dispel the water safely away from the homes foundation. To ensure all moisture along the walls are addressed we installed BrightWall paneling, a waterproof, easy to clean material that will not mold or rot. As an extra step of protection we also brought in a SaniDry dehumidifier. This space is now dry and healthy.

Condensation along the Basement Floor - Centerville, WA

This home had condensation spots where the foundation walls met the floor. Each year the water issue seemed to be getting worse. The homeowners were worried about how this problem would progress, so they reached out to John's Waterproofing. Our design specialist was sent out to perform a full inspection and found hydrostatic pressure was causing this homes problems.

To begin this project our installation crew dug a trench along the interior perimeter. Here we laid down a bed of gravel with our WaterGuard system. This will collect water to safely grade it to a TripleSafe sump pump, which then pushes the water out and away from the home. Along the walls our crew then installed BrightWall paneling, this will safely divert any moisture down the walls and into the new drainage system. As a final piece we installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep this home dry and healthy.

Foundation Cracks and Leaky Basement - Centerville, WA

A customer called because of a long crack that had developed on the foundation wall of his basement and water was seeping in. He had tried to fix it himself but his efforts failed. More water was seeping in and he realized he needed professional help so he called up John's Waterproofing.

A System Designer was scheduled and went to help the homeowner with a solution to his woes. He arrived, walked around the exterior and found problematic downspouts as well as the crack from both the exterior and interior. He also noted the moisture damage around the perimeter and took photos and measurements. He explained our award-winning WaterGuard system and sump pumps to the customer and what we could do to address the downspouts.

When the installation crew arrived they got to work installing the WaterGuard patented drain system around the perimeter of the interior. They connected this to a SuperSump system that includes a primary pump with a battery backup in a special container featuring an airtight lid and alarm that would alert the customer to any failure. The downspouts were addressed by extending the discharge line underground to maintain the look of the landscaping. This design also avoids a tripping hazard, discharging well away from the basement with a LawnScape outlet and a subtle design with a removable lid for cleaning out debris. Problems solved!

High Humidity in Unfinished Basement - Centerville, WA

This unfinished basement was suffering from high humidity in the basement. This was causing water mold to appear on parts of the walls as well as mold showing up on some of the stored items in this space. The homeowners wanted to find a solution to protect their home, and they reached out to John's Waterproofing.

Our crews arrived and dug a trench along with the interior parameter and installed a WaterGaurd drainage system. The basement walls were then covered in our BrightWall panels. These would allow all condensation and moisture from the walls to divert down to the new drainage system. Water then goes along the WaterGaurd to a newly installed TripleSafe Sump pump and then pushed out and away from the home's foundation. As a final piece, this home had a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier installed to ensure the home would be at a safe humidity level so mold couldn't take hold.

Unfinished Basement has Water Moisture - Centerville, WA

This home's unfinished basement had water moisture coming through the foundation walls. In some spots where the water was more prominent mineral build-up was evident. To address the water problem, the homeowners called John's Waterproofing.

To waterproof the basement, we began by digging a trench along with the interior parameter and installing a WaterGaurd drainage system, this directs all water to the newly installed SuperSump pump which then moves the water a safe distance away from the foundation of the home. The walls were then covered with our BrightWall panel system which is a waterproof material that will direct all water down the walls to the drainage system. We also installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep this basement dry and healthy.

Water Intrusion at Finished Basement Windows in Centerville, WA

This home had their basement waterproofed and finished by another company a few years prior. However, as the years progressed they noticed water intrusion around their basement windows. The water was seeping through and pooling on the exterior sides. They wanted to make sure the water was able to safely get away from their home so it wouldn't enter their finished basement and cause further issues. For help, they called John's Waterproofing.

We thoroughly looked over the basement, and were able to confirm that the water issues were solely around the windows. The rest of the basements waterproofing system was in working order. So we removed the old windows, and the old window wells. We upgraded their window wells and their windows so that they could have proper drainage on the exterior to protect the home. We then sealed up around the window and they have been able to enjoy their finished basement thoroughly now, no more water intrusions!

Everlast Wall Restoration in Centerville, WA Basement

This basement in Centerville, Washington had water intrusion that was causing mold growth on the bottom half of the drywall. This was a major concern for the homeowner, so he called John's Waterproofing immediately. Our amazing inspector, Kevin gave the homeowner a patented solution to ensure that there would no longer be water intrusion. He suggested our Brightwall paneling system, a Waterguard perimeter drain, and Everlast Wall Restoration.

The homeowner happily agreed and Luke and his team set out to ensure the health of Eugene's basement. They started by installing Brightwall paneling against the concrete walls which channels wall seepage down into the Waterguard perimeter drain. Our patented Waterguard perimeter drain collects the wall seepage and directs the water into the sump pump. In this case, a Triple Safe sump pump. For the lower section of the drywall that had mold, our team removed that section of drywall and easily replaced it with our Everlast Wall Restoration panels that waterproof and prevent mold reoccurance.

Eugene is happy that he can now use his basement space without fear of water intrusion causing health hazards.
