Job Stories From Government Camp, OR
High Heating Costs in the Winter - Government Camp, OR

While high heating costs are expected for this homeowner, they had seen a bigger incline than expected, leading them to think their home must be loosing heat. When looking into this, they discovered the fiberglass insulation in their crawl space was falling, with most of it damp to the touch, and no longer around their HVAC systems. They searched online to see if fiberglass was the best option, and read about how it would mold and once it was in contact with water it lost it's 'R' value quickly. Instead of going for that, they called upon John's Waterproofing.

To begin helping them, we removed the old insulation, muddy vapor barrier, and general debris that was present. We then began to encapsulate the space. There was a good natural grade to the area, so no full drain system was needed, only a partial to ensure groundwater made its way to the newly installed TripleSafe sump pump which then dispeled the water away from the home. We then sealed the vents all shut and spot treated the space for mold as needed. We then insulated the dirt floor with TerraBlock insulation. CleanSpace goes over this, going under each wooden post, and sealing fully to the rim joist. A SaniDry dehumidifier was installed to ensure mold cant grow here and spray foam was applied to the foundation walls, both insulating and air sealing the space. The home is now properly insulated and the homeowners look forward to seeing their savings come in!

Homeowners want a Vapor Barrier in Government Camp, OR

This homeowner wanted to get their crawl space addressed. The cabin was purchased recently, and they knew it would have some things that needed to be fixed up. One of such items was the crawl space. It was an open dirt floor, with large rocks, and the slope, made the hillside of the space to small to move through. The homeowners scheduled a free inspection with John's Waterproofing to see how we could help address these issues before a larger problem occurred.

To begin our work, we cleared out some debris that was present. We then had to dig out the hillside of the crawl space to local regulation, and we removed some of the larger rocks that blocked sections of the area. We then installed an interior drainage system to ensure any water would be guided to the lowest point of the crawl space where we installed a SuperSump Plus which sends the collected water safely away from the homes foundation. We then laid down TerraBlock insulation over the dirt floor and then our CleanSpace. This 20 Mil woven vapor barrier is installed under each wooden post, attaches along the rim joist, and is sealed fully in place, with the vents all sealed shut. We then installed a SaniDry dehumidifier and had Spray Foam insulation applied to the foundation walls to get this crawl space dry, stable, and healthy!

Garage/Basement Has Mold Spores - Government Camp, OR

This homes basement was also the garage, and was used for the homeowners' general Winter gear storage. When getting ready for this years snow season, the homeowners were pulling out gear to check sizing, and found mold spores on some of the clothing. If mold spores were showing up here, it meant moisture was becoming an issue. Knowing how important it is to have your home protected against water damage, they called up John's Waterproofing so they could be proactive against water problems.

To begin our work the crew dug a trench along the interior perimeter of space. Along the walls we installed a WaterGuard drainage system, with our TrenchGuard along to garage door as an added protection. This system all connects and grades the water along to a newly installed TripleSafe sump pump that will then pump the water safely away from the homes foundation. To protect the walls, we installed BrightWall paneling, which guides moisture from the walls into the drain system below. A SaniDry dehumidifier was installed to make this spaces environment healthy.

Basement Storage in Government Camp, OR

Moisture was found in the basement where the poured floor met the walls. When needed, the homeowners would have to pull the stored items away from the walls to ensure water wouldn't seep into boxes. They figured this was normal but eventually heard about John's Waterproofing. Eager to solve this issue and see if a solution truly did exist, they called us up and scheduled their inspection.

The solution was a full basement waterproofing. A crew began by digging a trench along the interior perimeter, here we laid down a bed of gravel with a WaterGuard drainage system. This is graded to drain all of the collected water along to a TripleSafe Sump Pump. From here, the water was sent away from the home's foundation to a LawnScape outlet. We then installed BrightWall paneling along the walls to guide any wall moisture downwards into the drain system. We then installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to assist in making this space dry and healthy! The homeowners were cautious to begin and kept all items away from the wall to monitor if the system worked. After a full year with no moisture coming through, they were thrilled to move items against the walls and fully utilize the basement space.

Wet Basement in Government Camp, OR

Ice and snow melt becomes a real issues for homes, and this home was no different. When the world begins to thaw after Winter, this homes basement would end up with wet spots and homeowners wanted a solution to keep their home safe year round from water damage. They heard about John's Waterproofing and called us up. After an inspection on the outside of the home as well as throughout the basement, a solution was crafted to fix this home up.

Our installation crew arrived and began their work by digging a trench along the interior perimeter. In this we installed our WaterGuard drainage system. This is laid in a bed of gravel and is encased in concrete to give the space a smooth floor. The walls were covered in BrightWall panels, these will direct any moisture from the wall down into the drain system. The water is then naturally graded to the lowest spot in the basement where we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. Water is then pumped out and away from the home to a LawnScape outlet. The homeowners are thrilled with the systems performance and how it has kept their home dry and healthy.

Winter Melt Brings Moisture to Basement - Government Camp, OR

When snow and ice melts, it brings added moisture to this home in Government Camp. The homeowners figured this would be a lasting issue and would keep items away from the hillside portion of the basement and clean up that area when the heavy melt finally passed through for the year. However, after discussing this with a neighbor, the homeowners learned this didn't need to be the case, and was referred to John's Waterproofing.

When our installation crew arrived we dug a trench along the interior parameter of the home. This will be the new drainage system for the space to collect the groundwater and moisture from the newly covered BrightWall panels along the walls. The drainage system is our WaterGuard product which naturally grades this collected water to a newly installed TripleSafe sump pump. From here water is safely diverted out to a LawnScape outlet. The homeowners are thrilled with how fresh the finished waterproofing job looked and are excited to no longer have to worry about water issues.

Moisture in Basement when Snow Melts in Government Camp, OR

When the snow melted from the mountain, the water pressure on the home would increase, and the basement experienced water pooling on the hillside of the home. while the space was unfinished, it was still being used for laundry and storage space. To keep the home dry and healthy, the homeowners called in John's Waterproofing.

Our crews went out and installed a WaterGaurd drainage system around the home's interior parameter, this collected water and pushed it along to a new TripleSafe sump pump, which then diverts all water safely away from the foundation of the home. The walls of the basement were then covered in ThermalDry panels to direct all water from the walls down into the drainage system, keeping this home dry and healthy.

Gutter Downspout Pouring Water by Homes Foundation - Government Camp, OR

This home was experiencing some water pooling around their downspouts, this was drowning the flowerbeds and making a muddy mess whenever the snow and ice melted. The homeowners didn't want to just extend their downspouts, because they were worried about that getting in the way, so they called John's Waterproofing.

Our installation crew decided to extend the downspouts down and buried a pipe system under the ground, out and away from the home to a LawnScape outlet. This allows the water to safely get diverted away, keeping the foundation of the home protected, and putting an end to water ruining their home's landscaping.

Hillside Home has Pooling Water Along the Garage - Government Camp, OR

This home is built into the hillside, the driveway hosts access to the garage which sits above the basement area. Due to the high amounts of snow the home faces it ends up with a large amount of water when things begin the melt. Due to how the concrete in the driveway was poured this has led to water pooling near the garage doors and seeping down into the basement through the walls. The rest of the basement has had no water issues, only the side that is built fully in the hillside.

To solve this issue we dug a trench and inserted a TrenchDrain in front of the garage which diverts the water to either side of the house where it connects to new pipes and runs the water out and away from the home. To protect the basement, we also added in t Watergaurd pipe along the interior of the basement along the hillside wall. This pipe leads any water that creeps through to a TripleSafe Sump pump that pops out and connects to  one of the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. The hillside wall was also then covered in ThermalDry wall  to waterproof it and help it maintain its temperature no matter what the exterior elements throw at it.

The home is now ready for water, and the homeowners can rest assured their home will remain dry and healthy!
