Puddles in the Basement - Mapleton, OR

When puddles of water are forming along the basement floor, there is a water issue. The homeowners called up John's Waterproofing to learn about waterproofing options that could address their homes problems. In the end we crafted a solution to reach all the puddles and keep their basement dry all of the time now.

To begin, our crew dug a trench around the home's interior perimeter, we also dug leech lines where the puddles were originating to ensure the water coming up through the floor would also be addressed. The leech lines consist of perforated pipe in a bed of gravel, the perimeter has WaterGuard drain lines. These are all installed to guide the water to the lowest point where it goes into a TripleSafe sump pump and is sent out from the home. All of these lines are concreted over, and inspection ports added as needed. The walls had our BrightWall paneling installed to guide water from the walls down to the drain system, also providing a semi-finished look for the space. We then installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the moisture content at a healthy range. This space can now remain dry and healthy all year round.

Basements Shouldn't Feel Musty - Mapleton, OR

This homes basement always smelled damp and musty. The homeowners had lived with the odor for years and never thought there was another option. They could see no water or damage, just the ever present odor that was present. However, at a local home show, the homeowners chatted with a representative at our booth, and learned there was a better way, and that this odor was a sign of a water issue that was slowly creeping through the homes foundation.

To address this issue properly and protect the home from water damage, waterproofing was needed. We installed a full interior WaterGuard drainage system which will collect water from the walls and ground to guide to a TripleSafe sump pump, which then pumps the water safely away from the homes foundation. The walls were then covered with our BrightWall panels, which will guide moisture from the walls to the drain system. A SaniDry dehumidifier was installed to treat the present high humidity levels. The homeowners also opted to have an Aspen air purifier installed in their living spaces. The system as a whole has made the home smell healthy, that musty odor gone!

Musty Basement - Mapleton, OR

At a home show this homeowner stopped to chat. They had a basement that was used for storage, but as of lately, they had found some mold on some of the items that were stored here. They couldn't see any water issues, but were wondering what could cause this to happen on items that just sat in boxes. Our representative explain that high humidity could lead to that type of issue and that we would be happy to have a design specialist go out to perform a full inspection to help diagnose the issue. During the inspection, the specialist used a hygrometer, finding that the initial thoughts had been accurate, and humidity problems were affecting this space.

To solve the problem, our crew dug a trench along the foundation walls, where a bed of gravel and WaterGuard was installed. The walls were covered with BrightWall paneling, a semi-finished panel that is easy to clean, will not rot or mold, and guides the wall moisture to the drain system. WaterGuard guides all of the collected water to a newly installed TripleSafe Sump pump to then push the water safely away from the homes foundation. Since humidity had been an apparent issue we also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the space healthy, and keep mold from growing.

Damp Walls and Floors in Mapleton, OR

This basement had suffered from damp walls and floors for years. The homeowners had accepted this were very conscious about what items could safely be kept in this space. They had applied store bought waterproofing paint and applied this every few years, but it would eventually bubble and chip, and water stains were still pushing through. When talking through this issue at their hardware store they ended up pointed to John's Waterproofing for a lasting solution. We scheduled a full inspection and afterwards crafted a solution.

To begin we installed a full drainage system on the interior of the home. This included a few dissecting drainage lines since some cracks were evident from hydrostatic pressure pushing water up and into the basement. These drain systems were graded to a low spot where we installed a TripleSafe sump pump to collect the water and send it safely away from the homes foundation. Along the walls, we then placed BrightWall paneling, to ensure water is directly safely down into the drain system. This space also needed a SaniDry dehumidifier and is now a safe space for storage!

Water Intrusion in Basement - Mapleton, OR

This homeowners unfinished basement had a water intrusion and the damp smell was becoming worse with the rainy season. To address this issue, they searched online and found John's Waterproofing. After a quick call, they were set up for a system designer to come out and perform a free inspection. From our inspection we found water creeping through the walls, primarily on the hillside of the homes basement, where water pressure was being exerted as it came down the hill.

To solve the issue our installation crew began by digging a trench along the interior perimeter, here we installed our WaterGuard drainage system in a bed of gravel. this naturally grades to a newly installed TripleSafe sump pump. From here water is sent out and away from the homes foundation to a LawnScape outlet. We also installed CleanSpace along the foundation walls, this will ensure any water moisture along the walls is diverted safely down the walls and into the drain system, keeping the basement dry and healthy.

Basement Moisture in Mapleton, OR

This basement was used for storage, and the homeowners weren't aware of the moisture until they noticed water creeping out from under some of the shelving against the wall. When the self was moved, water stains were along the walls, showing that moisture had been coming in for a while, layering up the mineral stains. To figure out this water problem, they called upon John's Waterproofing to keep their home healthy.

Our installation crew arrived and began by installing a WaterGuard drainage system. This is installed along the interior parameter. The walls were covered with BrightWall paneling, which is easy to clean and waterproof. This will direct all wall moisture down the walls safely to the WaterGuard system. The drainage system then grades the water to a TripleSafe sump pump. From this point, water is pushed out and away from the home to be discharged. As a final piece we installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the air dry.

Water found in Hairline Cracks of Basement - Mapleton, OR

Over the course of time, new construction, major changes in landscaping, and dirt settlement can redirect waterways and alter the foundation of a home. This older home began to see some hairline cracks in its foundation walls. The homeowners noticed that they were damp to the touch and water began to creep through these cracks more as time went on. The homeowners wanted to stop this issue before it worsened and called in John's Waterproofing for help.

The first thing our installation crew did was address these issues; Paraseal and TremDrain were used to seal the cracks and keep them from causing issues. We then installed WaterGaurd along with the interior parameter with BrightWall paneling to collect any moisture from the walls, divert it down to the drainage system, to a new TripleSafe sump pump, and then safely out and away from the home.

Water Stains on Foundation Walls - Mapleton, OR

A poured foundation is a porous material, and when it has water pressure pushing in it, this can lead to moisture, or a leak to form. The basement of This home had damp to the touch sections of their basement walls, and it had become frequent enough that water stains were visible year-round. To keep water from entering this space, they called in John's Waterproofing.

Our crews began by digging a trench on the interior parameter to install a WaterGaurd drainage system. This collects the groundwater and takes it all to a newly installed TripleSafe sump pump and directs the water out and away from the foundation of the home. To keep the moisture on the walls controlled we installed our BrightWall panel system to keep all moisture moving down to the drainage system. This home now stays dry and healthy.

Mapleton, OR WaterGuard in Basement

This homeowner was concerned about the water coming in from the walls and floors of his daylight basement. Our inspector, Ben suggested installing our patented WaterGuard system, ThermalDry paneling, and a SuperSump pump.

Delfino and his team immediately set out to stop the water intrusion in Sean's daylight basement. The team installed ThermalDry paneling which is a flexible material installed over concrete walls and drains all wall seepage into our patented WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. The WaterGuard perimeter drain collects intruding water and channels the water to the SuperSump pump. The SuperSump pump removes up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour smoothly and quietly.

Now that our systems are in place, Sean no longer has water intrusion issues and can enjoy his healthy new daylight basement space.
