Photo Album: Cracks in the Foundation and Falling Fiberglass - Nehalem, OR
This home was experiencing a few issues. They had cracks along their foundation, and the doors in their home were sticking in the frames. They also knew their insulation wasn't doing what it was supposed to. When they glanced under the home they saw it hanging from the sub-floor and knew this wouldn't be a DIY job. So they wanted to have John's Waterproofing come in and provide a solution. To begin we did a full inspection, crawling throughout the entire space to document our findings before sitting with the owners to craft the repair plan together.
To solve all issues we would begin by clearing out the old insulation and vapor barrier. We then had to install eleven SmartJacks to address wooden posts that were off kilter, and add support where needed. We then installed a full encapsualtion. We installed a drain system, sealed shut the vents, and put in a SuperSump Plus. We then insulated the floor with TerraBlock. Over this we install CleanSpace, a 20 mil woven vapor barrier. Spray Foam is applied to the foundation walls and a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the space healthy.

Damp Spots Along the Dirt Floor, Moisture in the Fiberglass
The part of the crawl space was missing a vapor barrier completely and damp spots were there, and some nasty moisture spots absorbed into places in the falling fiberglass
