Paint, pumps, and insulation
You can see sitting on the ledge products that they had bought to improve this space. while it was a good thought and something is better than nothing. Many products you buy in local stores can be flawed and not function as well as they say. Especially if not installed correctly
Painting the walls
Some people opt to get "waterproof paint" or waterproof sealant. I can tell you from experience that this is not the way to go. I couldn't count on all my toes and fingers how many customers have called in saying this was the first thing they did and it did not work.
Yucky floors
even if you waterproof the walls, what about your floors? you can see what has been growing on this homeowners floor due to water and moisture.
Attempting to dry it out
This fan is pointed towards the corner the sump pump was installed in. I don't think the store bought sump is doing a very good job.
