Insulation Photo Album: Water Floods from Crawlspace into Adjoining Basement - Gleneden Beach, OR

This home had a daylight basement with one wall being shared with a hillside crawlspace. The crawlspace had fiberglass insulation that was starting to droop away from the walls, lowering it's insulation value. The hillside also caused all water to pool in the low spot, and it had made its way through the wall into the basement. The carpeting was all damaged and the lower portions of the drywall needed to be replaced.

Fiberglass is a product made to be enclosed on all sides, with it exposed to droops and falls out of place easily, also absorbing any moisture

Basement Repair

When the basement flooded, the old carpeting needed to be pulled up and the lower portions of the walls were damp and musty

Clearing out the Crawlspace

Our crew removed all of the old fiberglass and the old vapor barrier

Basement Work

A full encapsulation with a partial basement waterproofing system would need to be installed

TerraBlock

TerraBlock insulation is laid out over all of the dirt floor. Spray Foam will be applied to the walls to finish insulating the space

Sump Pump

A TripleSafe sump pump is installed to collect all groundwater and send it safely away from the home

We lay in CleanSpace, a 20 Mil woven vapor barrier
