How to Take Care of your System in Icy Conditions

ICE AND SNOW RUN-OFF

A WAVE OF UNEXPECTED WATERS

This weather has really just been awful. Between the snow and ice, the thawing and refreezing, rain and then snow again. The ice accumulation and flooding are making for some real messes out there. Over the last two weeks, we have had to deal with systems that have backed up and in need of repairs.

With all the snow and ice as of late thawing and refreezing, damage to the downspouts and drainage lines is possible. This can lead to flooding in your basement or crawlspace and could prevent your sump pump from working properly. One item we ensure we check and maintain is your drainage lines - all the way through to where they connect to the street – are not obstructed or frozen over by the recent snow and ice. Something as simple as sprinkling salt could be the difference between a working system and a flooded space. If you have not had your annual service completed yet, schedule an appointment for us to make sure your system is working like it should.
