Be Prepared, Having your Sump Pump Keep Working in the Event of a Power Outage
PREPARING FOR A POWER OUTAGE
NO NEED TO STRESS ABOUT YOUR WATERPROOFING SYSTEM
The PNW is handling a planned power outage due to the high heat and winds. While flooding may not be an issue at the moment, it does make us think about power outages and what needs to be prepared around the home beforehand.
In general there are a new things that are needed for your outage kit:
- Flashlights or headlamps (candles and matches if needed as well)
- Battery powered or hand-crank clock/watch
- In the summer, battery powered or handheld fans
- Extra batteries in a variety of sizes
- Car charger for cells phones and electronic devices
- Bottled water for people and animals
- Frozen cold packs ready in the freezer
- Emergency phone number for your power company

One item that often goes over looked during a power outage is the space under your home. However, if heavy rain and flooding is an issue during a power outage, we offer the long-lasting UltraSump battery backup system. This system will kick on should a tripped circuit, power outage, or sump failure occurs. On a full charge, the UltraSump will sound an alarm to alert the homeowner it is in use, and it can pump more than 11,500 gallons of water in a single charge. After installation, we suggest annual maintenance to ensure the system is in tip-top shape and ready for use.
