Photo Album: Fixing Mold in the Crawl Space in Portland, OR
This customer called because a musty smell had been slowly building all throughout her home. She had searched everywhere for where the smell may be coming from and decided it was time to have her crawl space inspected. When our inspector went out he found water puddled in the crawlspace. Due to the water and high humidity, there was also mold growing in the space which is where the musty smell had been coming from. Our crew went out to do a full crawlspace encapsulation system to treat and keep the water and mold away. We started by cleaning out the crawlspace of all debris so we can treat the mold with our Mold-X solution. It not only removes the mold but the mold stains also. Our crew put in a TripleSafe Sump pump along with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. Once the crawlspace is completely sealed our crew installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to ensure that the humidity levels stay down and it will filter out mold spores, dust, and allergens. The homeowner noticed a difference immediately and the musty smell was gone. She was so excited that she had found the problem and we took care of it quickly.
Keeping the Air Clean
This home before encapsulation had mold and moisture in the crawlspace. With the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, it filters out the moisture in the air, keeping the humidity down. It also filters out mold spores, dust mites, and allergens. Helping keep the air coming from your crawlspace as clean as possible.
Sump Pump Installation
For this crawlspace, the best option was our TripleSafe sump pump. It is a three pump system that runs the number of pumps based on the amount of water being drained in. It has a battery operated pump to help in case of a power outage. The pump runs quietly so you won't even know it's there.
Full Coverage
When we do encapsulation, we make sure that the crawlspace is truly sealed. We left each post just high enough to slip the vapor barrier underneath and isolate the post.
Vapor Barrier
We use a 20 mils thick woven fiber vapor barrier called CleanSpace. We start from the ground and work our way up to the sill plate of the home. It is rip resistant and truly gives your crawlspace the protection it needs.
