Photo Album: Crawlspace Makeover in Happy Valley, OR
This customer called needing their crawlspace inspected. They had been using the crawl space as storage and their belongings were getting ruined from not having a proper crawlspace environment. Our inspector went out and recommended a crawlspace encapsulation so the homeowners could still use their crawlspace as a storage space. Our crew came in and cleaned out the debris from the crawlspace and installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier that seals the crawlspace along with vent covers. To keep water out we also installed our Smart Sump that is the perfect size sump pump for the crawlspace. To keep the air clean we also installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. It filters out mold spores, dust, and other allergens. After the crawlspace is encapsulated we use Spray Foam insulation to keep heating and cooling in and lower your bill. The homeowner was thrilled to see how clean the crawlspace was and to have the proper additional storage without having damage to their belongings.
Post Isolation
When we lay our vapor barrier down we make sure to slip the vapor barrier under the post. This part is very important because if it was wrapped, tapped, or any other variation it would allow moisture from the ground to seep into your post and cause wood rot to your post.
Insulation
We use spray foam insulation that goes around the perimeter of the crawlspace. It gives the most coverage and doesn't have to be relpaced every 5-7 years like typical fiberglass.
Encapsulation
When encapsulating your crawlspace it completely seals your space leaving it a conditioned space that could have the potential for storage space like this high crawlspace.
