Photo Album: Buckling Floors and Mold in Crawlspace - Vancouver, WA
This homeowner called up, they had replaced their hardwood floors due to buckling that was occurring. While their floor was now nice, they wanted to ensure it would stay that way. The contractor who installed their flooring suggested John's Waterproofing. When we inspected under their home, we found the fiberglass insulation falling due to water weight, and mold being held up against the wood floors above. This mold and water exposure was a very likely cause for the buckling the homeowners had experienced. To solve this issue we suggested a crawlspace encapsulation which provides insulation made to suit a crawlspace, and will keep water moisture away from the wooden aspects of the foundation.
Insulation Falling
The insulation is falling in pieces due to water.
Mold and Buckling
Our inspector looked behind the insulation and instantly found mold and the wood was damaged and warped.
CleanSpace
The dirt floor is insulated with TerraBlock and then CleanSpace is installed over it to provide a watertight seal.
Foundation Wall Insulation
We added spray foam insulation along the foundation walls to lower the home's energy bills.
