Photo Album: Preventative Work with Crawlspace Encapsulation in Independence, OR

This homeowner spoke with their neighbor, and heard about how encapsulation had lowered their home energy bills, and made the air healthy for their family. After hearing the reviews, they were ready to encapsulate their crawlspace as well. While no major damage had occurred yet, knowing this work would prevent excessive water damage took a big stress out of their homes future.

Generic Crawlspace

This homes crawlspace had what most homes have; a 6 mil vapor barrier and fiberglass insulation.

Lasting Insulation

The home now has insulation made for a crawlspace including TerraBlock along the dirt floor and Spray Foam along the walls.

Why We Don't Use Fiberglass

While not bad, the home was already showing some mold spores since fiberglass absorbs moisture and holds it against the wooden aspects of the foundation.

CleanSpace Vapor Barrier

We use a CleanSpace vapor barrier that is 20 Mil thick and made of a woven material. It has a 25 year warranty against rips and tears and fully seals into it's place.
