Photo Album: Step by Step Process Installing a Drainage System - Washougal, WA
The first and most important part of doing an encapsulation is installing a proper drainage system. This homeowner experienced significant levels of puddling water in their crawl space and needed a system installed that could work constantly to push the water away from the homes foundation. John's Waterproofing was able to install a full drainage system to keep their crawl space dry and healthy. The first step of the drainage system is installing a 3 in. perforated pipe. The pipe is install along the interior perimeter of the crawl space in a silt sock. This allows for water to easily pass through and have a safe passageway. This pipe then connects to the lowest point in the crawl space where a 22 in hole is dug for the TripleSafe sump pump to be installed. The TripleSafe sump pump is designed to collect gallons of water at a time and be able to push it out and away from the homes foundation. It is a heavy duty, three-pump system that ensures flooding won't occur. It even has a backup battery in the case of a power outage so that no matter what, it is prepared to keep water from filling in the crawl space. Once the drainage system is installed, then we can complete the spaces encapsulation.
