Photo Album: Keeping Your Crawl Space Dry With a Budget - Clinton, WA
This homeowner wanted to be able to keep their crawl space dry after experiencing some water intrusion during the wetter seasons. They decided to have a professional fix this issue and called John's Waterproofing. They wanted different options that would best fit their budget, yet still help the problem, and decided a Pipe Pump Plastic method would be best for them. We began the process by installing a drainage system. This involves digging a trench along the interior perimeter of the crawl space and laying in a perforated pipe. The pipe has holes to allow for easy entry for water to flow through and guides it to the lowest point in the crawl space. This is where a TripleSafe sump pump is installed that takes all that collected water and can safely push it out of the crawl space and away from the homes foundation. After, we need some form of moisture protection that will separate the earth from the home. This is when we install a 6 mil vapor barrier along the base up the crawl space, up the foundation walls to protect against water damage. The vapor barrier is overlapped at each seam and along the edges to prevent groundwater from seeping over top of it. This helps to prevent pools of water from getting into the crawl space and evaporating into the air. Once the Pipe Pump Plastic system is completed, the homeowner can enjoy a dry crawl space at a budget that worked for them.
