Photo Album: Create More Usable Space by Waterproofing - Pleasant Hill, OR
This homeowner wanted to add more usable space to their home and thought redoing their basement would be the best option. Unfortunately, their basement was filled with water constantly leaking through which made it unable to store any belongings in there. Wanting to fix this issue permanently, they reached out to John's Waterproofing about what their options were. This is when they discovered our basement waterproofing system. To begin, we first needed to install a drainage system that would be able to collect and redirect the water entry so it wouldn't continue to flood in the basement. Our drainage system involves jackhammering a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement and installing WaterGuard. This drainage pipe is designed to be able to offer a safe passageway for water to flow through, whether it's rising groundwater or coming through the walls, and direct it to a sump pump to be pushed out. The TripleSafe sump pump is capable of taking all that collected water and securely pushing it out of the basement and away from the homes foundation. After the drainage system is installed and there is control of the passage of water, then we can protect the walls. Because the water was mostly seeping through the basement walls, we installed a CleanSpace vapor barrier along all the walls. This liner is 20 mil thick and made with woven fibers that help prevent against rips and tears. It also acts as a guide to direct water down below to the drainage system to be sent out. A SaniDry dehumidifier was then installed, addressing any concerns over excess moisture within the air. Once this waterproofing system is completed, the homeowner gets to enjoy hundreds of added usable square footage to their home without the threat of water intrusion.
