Bowing Walls in Basement; Willamina, OR
Challenge
A homeowner in Willamina, Oregon had noticed a vertical crack in their basement wall that seemed to be causing the walls to bow inward. This, of course, was causing great concern for the safety of the foundation of their home and the families overall well being. They had no idea what, if any, options they had to fix this problem without tearing down the walls and spending the next foreseeable future rebuilding from scratch.
Solution
Our solution for this homeowner and family was PowerBraces. These custom-fitted, zinc-plated steel beams were installed tightly against the basement walls from the floor joists to the top of the wall. They can be tightened over time and permanently straighten out the walls to where they are supposed to be. This takes the pressure off the foundation and makes the home more structurally sound. PowerBraces can be installed any time of the year and usually only take less than a day to fully install with no invasive drilling, digging or rebuilding of any kind.
