Puddles in Basement - Portland, OR
Challenge
Homeowners called because they had pooling water sitting in their basement. The space was unfinished, but was used for storage, laundry, and as a work out area. The home had an old DIY sump pump, but it wasn't collecting all of the water. After talking to a friend, they were referred to John's Waterproofing for a real solution.
Solution
To address the issue we began by installing a full parameter drainage system. This includes a bed of gravel with a WaterGaurd system on the interior of the home. The walls were covered in Brightwall, an easy to clean, and non-organic material that cannot mold. This is tucked into the below drain system, which is then covered up so the flooring in the basement remains smooth. The system then naturally grades to a newly installed TripleSafe sump pump, from here water is safely sent out and away from the homes foundation. We then upgraded the WellDuct for the basement windows, and air sealed with spray foam to have this home dry and healthy!
