Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Addressing Exterior Factors as a part of Basement Waterproofing - Portland, OR
This homes finished basement had a leak that was causing mildew and dampness, with the concentrated amount of water coming from the portions of the home that had the hillside running to it. With water flowing down the hill it would exert excess hydrostatic pressure along this portion of the home. While we did a full basement waterproofing system in the basement, we also installed a system to collect the hill water as it came down to the home. This system would collect the water and send it along the homes downspout extension that sends the water safely away from the homes foundation.
Hillside Home has a Collection of Mud
Water runs down the hill into this side of the home, it is so muddy that the homeowners can't get anything to grow here
Digging a Trench
Our crew dug a trench and it was already filling with water and we worked
A Perforated Pipe Drain System
The perforated pipe is installed and made to grade the collected water to the downspout extension, keeping the water from going into the basement
Keeping the Drain System Clear
The pipe is encased with a fabric that will keep silt from clogging the pipe, allowing it to collect only water
Rock Filtration system
We covered the system with river rocks to help water go smoothly to the drain system
