Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Finished Basement with Leak in Portland, OR

This finished basement had a leak. The carpeting was soaked through and the walls smelled musty. When the space was finished, a black 6 Mil vapor barrier was laid over the foundation walls beforehand. This was guiding all of the water down the walls where it was pooling under the carpeting and soaking up into the drywall that had been present.

Getting to the Problem

The homeowners had the carpeting and carpet padding all removed, the carpet tack stripes were rotting

Removing the Finished Walls

Our crew removed the old drywall to expose the finishing aspects of the space

WaterGuard and ThermalDry

We installed a WaterGuard drainage system in the ground around the perimeter to collect and guide the water, the walls were waterproofed and covered with ThermalDry Radiant Vapor Barrier

Sump Pump

The WaterGuard guides all the collected water to a new TripleSafe sump pump which then pumps the water safely away from the homes foundation
