Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Adding More Space to Your Home by Waterproofing - Portland, OR
Keeping the basement dry is every homeowners goal. That's because every homeowner wants to be able to use every bit of space that their home is supposed to offer them. By doing a basement waterproofing process, you can add hundreds of square feet to your homes overall usable space. This homeowner wanted to do just that and reached out to John's Waterproofing about how they could keep their basement dry and make it a new, usable space. To do a basement waterproofing process, the first step is to install a drainage system. This includes jackhammering along the interior perimeter of the basement and installing WaterGuard. WaterGuard is a pipe system that is able to catch water and offer it a safe passageway to the sump pump. This prevents water from being able to seep in and flood the basement. It is installed along the footing of the basement lined with gravel to filter water through and prevent clogging. Then, we install a TripleSafe sump pump which takes all the water from the WaterGuard and pushes it out of the basement and away from the homes foundation. Because we want the homeowners to feel comfortable, we even cover the WaterGuard drainage system up with concrete to make it completely unnoticeable, while still efficient at keeping water out. We then wanted to ensure no water would be able to seep in through any cracks along the foundation walls, so we installed ThermalDry. This is a vapor barrier that can guide water from the walls down below to the drainage system to be sent out. It is anchored to the walls and shingled to the WaterGuard to ensure secure passage of water. Now, this basement is completely waterproofed and the homeowner can add more usable living space to their home without the threat of water.

The TripleSafe sump pump is installed at the lowest point in a 22 in. deep hole. This fits the container, pump, and battery to keep it running securely.
