Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Create More Space in your Home by Basement Waterproofing - Portland, OR
Imagine losing hundreds of square footage of your homes usable space all because there is water seeping through. This homeowner experienced that when water began flooding in and they could no longer use their basement. Everything they stored in there was getting water damaged and they didn't even want to go down there anymore. Luckily, they reached out to John's Waterproofing and wanted to save their basement before the water damage started impacting the structural integrity of their home. We first needed to install a drainage system. In order to do this, we dug a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement. This is where WaterGuard drainage pipe is installed in the trench and alongside the footing of the basement. This collects water that tries to seep through and offers a safe passageway for it to flow in order to prevent flooding. It gets sent to a SuperSump Plus sump pump. The sump pump takes all that water that is sent in from WaterGuard and pushes it out of the basement and away from the homes foundation. We can ensure the water is sent away from the homes foundation by installing a discharge line from the sump pump to a LawnScape outlet. Once a drainage system is installed, then we can add moisture protection. This includes putting a CleanSpace Wall vapor barrier along the basement's walls. This is made with thick woven fibers to ensure no water can seep through. It is sealed with waterproof tape and caulking. Now that the basement is fully waterproofed, the homeowner can enjoy every space their home offers without the fear of water intrusion.
