WATERGUARD DRAINAGE SYSTEM FOR BASEMENT WATERPROOFING

In an ideal world, all homes would be waterproofed as they are being built, setting them up with exterior waterproofing and proper drainage systems already installed under the foundation of the home. However, this is often not the case, and luckily we are experts at waterproofing a home from the interior. For basements, a big piece of the waterproofing solution is installing the right drainage system to collect the groundwater and divert it out and away from the foundation of the home. Here at John's Waterproofing this is generally a multi-step solution that includes a wall system to divert water down the walls. One product we offer for this is the BrightWall Basement Wall System. This feeds water to the WaterGuard drainage system, which pushes water to a sump pump and all of the water then goes a safe distance away from the home. Here we will focus on the Middle step; WaterGuard.

WaterGuard is our most popular drainage system, to install it, our crews will dig out a trench along with the interior parameter. Next, the WaterGuard system has gravel poured around it to allow groundwater to easily enter the system without allowing dirt or other items that could clog it. The entire system is then encased in cement and given a smooth finish so it blends in seamlessly with the entire floor.
