Swampy Craw Space; Canby, OR
Challenge
The customer called due to water starting to intrude into his crawl space. He was also concerned as to him being able to smell mold but not locating the cause.
Our salesman Jacob went out and found that the crawlspace was indeed very moldy. The old fiberglass insulation was also soaked and had lost all durability. Which was causing the musty smell to travel to the upper levels of the house. Creating an unhealthy living space for anyone.
Solution
Delfino and his crew went out and cleaned up the entire crawlspace. Pulling out all of the old insulation and using our two-part mold solution to wipe out any future breakouts. They also had to isolate all of the posts, which entails cleaning up all the debris and digging out underneath them enough to put down CleanSpace underneath of each post.
They laid down TerraBlock to block any moisture from building up in the space from the soil. Sealing it off with CleanSpace in the entire space. Ensuring that every nook and cranny is covered so that the musty smell does not start to invade the home again. To neutralize the high humidity levels that are causing the mold to flourish they installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.
To complete the waterproofing portion of the work, they installed the TripleSafe sump pump to extinguish all water built up, out of the space. Delfino also replaced their old entrance to the crawlspace, due to the old one collapsing, with the EverLast Door. Which creates a tight seal to block any critters or leaks from occurring. To tie it all together Fernando came out and insulated the walls with spray foam insulation, which lasts longer in cold wet weather.
Kevin was extremely happy to when he didn't smell any of the mustinesses and knowing that the air quality was healthier. He also was more than pleased to find that the floors had an increase in warmth. Because the heat wasn't escaping from the crawl space anymore.
