Insulation Photo Album: Water Heavy Fiberglass in Beaverton, OR
High heating and cooling costs can be fixed by addressing numerous things around the house, including the crawlspace. Many homes end up with their crawlspace insulated by fiberglass. However, once this absorbs moisture it droops away from the home, lowing the insulation value significantly. Continued water and moisture then leads to fiberglass hosting mold spores and mildew causing even more issues for the home. To protect the home and lower the heating and cooling costs, a full encapsulation was installed.
Before - Drooping Fiberglass
The fiberglass was drooping away from the wood, allowing drafts to reduce the insulation value
Before - Fallen Insulation
The insulation had fallen in places
CleanSpace
We use TerraBlock to insulate the dirt, and CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal up the space
Foundation Insulation
Spray Foam is applied over the foundation walls, also providing an air tight seal
Water Alarm
We also install a water alarm so should a pipe burst in the crawlspace, the homeowners know to contact John's and have the system fixed and cleaned up
