This home had its water heater in the crawlspace, and it was exposed to the cold and the heat throughout the years. To regulate this temperature and reduce the water temperature fluctuations, a crawlspace encapsulation was done.
This homeowner called us up for a vapor barrier replacement. Their old fiberglass insulation had water vapor getting into it and that would pull the insulation down and cause the homes heating bills to go up. After a free inspection and hearing about our crawlspace encapsulation solution they were ready to upgrade to an insulation system that is made to last in a crawlspace!
This homeowners heating and cooling costs were consistently going up. After trying to fix it from the living spaces, they looked into their crawlspace. Here they discovered the old insulation falling in pieces, they needed crawlspace repair help. They called up John's Waterproofing and moved forward with a full crawlspace encapsulation.
Our inspector AJ is great at bringing back photos for the homeowner and, in turn, the marketing department. This crawlspace is not unique. Most of the crawlspaces we see look like this or worse. (I'd venture to bet that most of the crawlspaces in the Pacific Northwest look like this.)
The customer had mold in his crawl space and water. Our crew went in and removed all the debris and mold from the crawl space. We installed a TripleSafe sump pump and a SaniDry Sedona so he never has to worry about water and mold again.
