Flooded crawlspace in Fairview Oregon

Our home owners knew they had some water under their house when they called our office, but they had no idea the extent of their water issue. When our inspector Bob went through his inspection and showed them the photos they were shocked to see close to 4" of water hiding under the black visqueen. The thin black plastic had floated on top effectively hiding the severity of the problem.

Large Crawlspace Used for Storage - Brush Prairie, WA

This homes large crawlspace had a simple 6 Mil vapor barrier installed, while the home didn't suffer from heavy water issues, the homeowners wanted to use this space for storage. To do so, the slope here would need to be flattened, and a material would be needed that would act as both a vapor barrier and wouldn't rip or tear if items were stored on it. To achieve this goal, the homeowners reached out to John's Waterproofing. We leveled out some shelfs for items to be stored on and we used CleanSpace. This 20 mil woven barrier has a 25 year warranty against rips and tears. As a precaution we installed a full drainage solution as well, and insulated the space with TerraBlock and Spray Foam will be added along the foundation walls.

Keeping Your Crawl Space Dry in Damascus, OR

Encapsulating a crawl space includes separating your home from the earth so that the air going inside the living spaces can be controlled. This homeowner discovered that in their crawl space there was no layer of protection from their home and the dirt on the ground. This is a problem because the moisture from the soil will evaporate as temperatures change and create high humidity. If there's high humidity, that can develop exposures to mold growth, rotten wood, and lower the overall air quality inside your home. They decided to contact John's Waterproofing about doing an encapsulation on their crawl space to create a dry, healthy environment. This begins by removing the debris brought in by water. We install TerraBlock, which is a 3/4 in. thick flexible foam, to help insulate. Then, a CleanSpace vapor barrier is installed on top. This vapor barrier is a thick liner that is meant to seal off the earth from the home. It is tear resistant and made with antimicrobial material which will prohibit mold to grow on it. CleanSpace is fastened up the foundation walls to ensure no moisture can seep through and is sealed with waterproof tape. With these installed, there is proper separation between the home and earth. We also install a SaniDry dehumidifier that pulls the moisture out of the air and gets rid of any dampness to keep the air dry. Now, this homeowner feels more comfortable knowing that their home is protected from the outside elements.
