With indoor allergens, this homeowner was concerned about their indoor air quality. They ended up hearing how the crawl space could negatively impact the living spaces air quality, so they figured it wouldn't hurt to have a free inspection for their crawl space so they could see what was going on down there. To improve their homes breathable air, they moved forward with a full encapsulation to keep their home healthier!
This home had a small section of finished basement, with their stairway going past the entryway to their crawlspace. The crawlspace had a simple vapor barrier, but the added moisture that was still creeping in was causing mold to take over the stairway and was working into the rest of the basement. To fix up the home we added a drainage system in the crawlspace and graded this to a new TripleSafe sump pump in the basement. Our crew laid down a new 6 Mil vapor barrier and a new SaniDry dehumidifier to stop mold and mildew from occurring.
Water is persistent, and this homes finished basement was molding. When the carpeting was pulled back mold was evident, and the homeowners knew they would need to get waterproofing. For this they turned to John's Waterproofing. We arrived and removed the damaged wall and flooring. We installed a drain system with a sump pump, and refinished the space to keep it dry and healthy from here on out.
The access to the crawlspace was very small and difficult to get in and out of, the cement barrier around it let water and debris pour in to the uncovered access hole. Cables and wires were exposed to the outside elements. The open space allowed cold air and animals to enter the crawlspace. Our install crew came and provided an easy way to get in and out of the crawlspace. The system installed will protect the crawlspace from taking on water and air, while giving it a pleasant look.
This homes crawlspace had been 'waterproofed' years back. But upon inspection water was definitely rising up and over the old vapor barrier. Mud was throughout the space and it smelled off. To have the crawlspace healthy once more we installed a full encapsulation with proper insulation, a CleanSpace vapor barrier, Sump system, and Dehumidifier.
