Basement Finishing in Eugene, OR

These homeowners had leaky basement walls and called John's Waterproofing to help them. We suggested finishing their basement with our Thermal Dry Flooring and Everlast Wall Panels. Thermal Dry flooring has raised pegs underneath to create an airspace and keep water from getting into the basement. EverLast walls are neutral-colored wallboards that are immune to mold and moisture damage.

Transforming a Rodent Infested Crawl Space in Eugene, OR

This crawl space was dark, filthy and humid, which created the perfect environment for rodent activity. They completely took over this crawl space and these homeowners wanted to create a healthy and stable space that benefits them and will keep problems away. They reached out to John's and we went out for a free visit. While thoroughly inspecting this crawl space, we found rodent droppings, fiberglass insulation used as nesting and a damaged chewed vapor barrier. There was also a high level of humidity that had caused mold in some spots. After hearing this, the homeowners were ready to transform their crawl space so they moved forward with the estimate and we began.

We start by removing the fiberglass and old vapor barrier, than spot treating the mold spots with our Mold X-2. This effectively removes mold stains in 20 seconds. Since there was not much water, we install our SmartDrain system that will alert the homeowner of a possible plumbing leak with an audible alarm, draining the water into a drywell underneath the CleanSpace until they can fix it. Next, we install our TerraBlock system directly onto the dirt floor of the crawl space creating an insulated barrier between the home and the earth. Over this is our CleanSpace system, going in between the footing and the wooden posts. This 20 mil thick liner is also anchored into the foundation walls and up to the rim joists. It all then gets sealed with our heavy duty waterproof tape. We want to keep the environment controlled so we then install our SaniDry Sedona. This effective dehumidifier will eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air all while keeping the home at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly we finished this project by installing our foam insulation. This is sprayed along the foundation walls up to the rim joists filling every crack in void providing a complete airtight seal that will not allow any outside air, rodents, or water to enter. With this finished and protected crawl space these homeowners no longer have to worry about rodents taking over their home and living beneath their feet.

Puddled Crawl Space - Eugene, OR

This crawl space had puddles all over and the insulation was absorbing the moisture. The crawl space was so wet our crew had to do a dry out. After we dried out the crawl space our crew installed an encapsulation system. Our CleanSpace vapor barrier protects against moisture and mold. Along with our Smart Sump that is the perfect size for a crawl space. This homeowner never has to worry about puddles in her crawl space again.

Wet crawlspace cleanup in Eugene Oregon

This homeowner called to inform us that she peeked into her crawlspace access and she saw standing water and there was a "funky" smell. Jacob was quick to come out and provide a free inspection and confirmed for her that there was standing water throughout her crawlspace. He informed her that the smell as caused by bacteria in the standing water and the mold beginning to grow under the home.

Knowing that she had to get this taken care of quickly before it got worse, Nancy immediately scheduled to have Lupe and his team come out and handle the problem. The team dried out space, removed the mold, and installed a perimeter drain and sump pump to ensure she would not struggle with water issues again. We also placed a dehumidifier after we put up our patented CleanSpace crawlspace liner. We then finished the space with spray foam insulation to provide better heating and cooling year-round.

Encapsulating a Wet Crawl Space in Eugene, OR

Wet crawl spaces can often go unnoticed until issues such as musty smells, rodent activity, and high humidity start affecting the living area above. These homeowners were experiencing all of these issues and decided to give us a call to come find them a proper solution. We sent out a design specialist and he thoroughly inspected this crawl space and worked with the homeowners to craft the best plan, ensuring the problems in this crawl space are properly addressed.

We begin this project by removing all of the debris, fiberglass insulation and the old damaged vapor barrier. Afterwards, we dig a trench around the interior perimeter of the crawl space, in which we place a 3 inch perforated pipe into a silt sock to create a secure passage for water to drain to the lowest point. At this low point we install our TripleSafe Sump system that will collect the water that enters and pump it outside of the home through a discharge line. In the crawl space, we make sure that all of the vents are covered and sealed shut to prevent outside air from entering. Next, we install our TerraBlock system. This is 3/4th inch ground insulation that is designed to be installed on dirt floors and will help block moisture from making its way up. Our CleanSpace system is then placed on top of the TerraBlock and also anchored into the foundation walls. This is our 20 mil thick barrier that will not only brighten up this crawl space but will keep it protected from water intrusion, rodents, mold, humidity and more. During this project we made sure to create exterior access into the crawl space, so we install our EverLast door. To then keep the humidity controlled, we install our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier that will eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air. Finally to finish this project, we anchor our SilverGlo wall system into the foundation walls to raise the R-value and help insulate the home. Now that this crawl space is encapsulated, these homeowners can have peace of mind that their home is protected for years to come.
