This crawlspace was full of dirt and water and caked-on silt from where water had previously been. Lynn replaced the vapor barrier, installed a sump pump and dehumidifier to make the space dry and functional.
This homes old sump pump was unable to keep up with the homes water issues. It would overfill and water would pool over the old 6 Mil vapor barrier. To address this concern, they knew they would need to have a better system installed with an upgraded sump pump. We did a full encapsulation as replaced the sump pump with a TripleSafe sump pump.
To keep the water moving, a sump pump should be installed in the lowest point. This home had caked on mud and rocks that had gathered in this point over the years. Now that grade will help the water flow and be pumped out safely.
Our service team came out to do a service on this homeowners waterguard system. They decided that they wanted to upgrade their system and wondered if there was anything we could do to make the basement warmer. Now that it was dry they wanted to spend more time in there but it was still pretty chilly. We suggested our thermaldry wall system that acts as an insulation and reflects heat back into the basement. Now they have a dry and warm basement for years to come!
