Spray Foam Insulation in La Center, WA
Challenge
This homeowner called in because he was concerned about the amount of moisture in his crawlspace. Little did he know that a common product used in crawlspaces was actually absorbing and holding large amounts of water making the space unhealthy and colder. This product is fiberglass insulation and is an extremely common form of insulation in most crawlspaces. In this case, you could see the water droplets forming on the fiberglass which not only means that it's not doing its job but its creating other problems as well. It can cause mold that will spore and create a musty smell that travels to the first floor of the home through the stack effect.
Solution
Our crews came in and took out the ineffective fiber-glass insulation and replaced it with our solution: spray foam insulation. Spray foam insulation is closed-celled which means that it effectively stops vapor filtration. It has a high R-value, can save energy costs on your home, and adds strength to the building structure because it is permanent and will not sag.
