Pipe Leak in Encapsulated Crawlspace - Mulino, OR
Challenge
We had did a full crawlspace encapsulation on this home a couple years back. Since then they have done a great job at keeping up on their annual maintenance so it is in tip top shape as the years go by. On this years annual maintenance visit, our service technician noticed some water sitting on top of the Cleanspace Vapor barrier we had installed. Upon investigation, they discovered that the plumbing pipe that was housed in the crawlspace had a small leak and was dripping water into the crawlspace, hence the pool. Since the vapor barrier is made to be a waterproofing solution, the water couldn't penetrate it and was stuck inside the crawlspace.
Solution
To solve this issue, we had our plumbing division swing by. After turning off the water lines, they crawled under the house and replaced the leaky pipes. Once the new pipes were installed they made sure it was fully sealed up. They thoroughly cleaned up the little pool of water, turned the water back on and let water run through the pipes for a little while to ensure that the work was done properly. Even when an expert does work, we always have them check their work, accidents happen so we like to know the situation is handled before we leave. With no signs of water leaking our plumbers were off to their next job.
This home is once again protected against water damage.
