Photo Album: Protecting the Crawl Space with a Pipe, Pump, and Plastic - White Salmon, WA
This homes crawl space was musty and damp almost all year round. They had to replace the vapor barrier frequently due to water climbing over the top of it, bringing debris with it. The owners were fed up, so they called up John's Waterproofing to hear about their options. While a full encapsulation wasn't something they were ready to invest in at this moment, the did know they needed to address the groundwater levels now to save them a headache. So they purchased a pipe pump and plastic solution. This involves a full drainage system, sump pump, and a new vapor barrier that is anchored along the foundation walls to help hold it into place. This will help the space remain drier, and should the owner be ready for an encapsulation down the road, they drainage and pump will already be done!
Falling Fiberglass and Damp Spots
The old fiberglass was falling and wet spots were visible through the crawl space
Damp Puddles of Fiberglass
In some spaces the fiberglass was falling in large strips, just soaking up water from the puddles of water
Installing a Drainage System within a Trench
We installed our drainage system within a silt sock to collect and guide the water to the lowest point of the crawl space
Sump Pump Location
The drain system connects into the new TripleSafe sump pump which will pump the water safely away from the homes foundation
Fully installed sump pump
The new vapor barrier then layers into the sump lid that is secured tightly
