Water Secretion in the Crawlspace Walls; Portland, OR
Challenge
Melanie called when she realized that her crawl space and basement duos walls were starting to have water seepage.
Marcus went out and found that the water seeping into the basement portion was coming from the crawl space. The old vapor barrier was not properly sealed to any of the walls, or around the plumping. Creating an easy access point for water to travel through. Which was then how the water carried over into the basement.
Solution
To start the job off, Marcus pulled out all of the old insulation and debris. Making sure that the crawl space had a level ground. Which helped out Lupe and his crew to lay the TerraBlock down without any bubbling or divets to interfere with its workability.
To create a tight seal for the crawl space, the crew installed 20 mil CleanSpace over top the TerraBlock. Sealing the edges with our unique patented heat adhering CleanSpace tape. But in order to encapsulate the space, isolating 10 of the piers had to be done beforehand.
Which entails the crew to dig out an inch of soil from under the concrete post. For the CleanSpace then to be laid underneath with the TerraBlock.
To finish the job completely, Fernando went out and used the Spray Foam Insulation to secure that all cracks are filled. Along with any empty spaces around the plumbing is filled.
Leaving the customer happy knowing that the water could no longer travel from the crawl space to the basement. Also ensured that the CleanSpace has a lifetime warranty. So if any problems were to arise we would come out to fix any and all of the issues.
