Flaking and Crumbling Concrete Walls - Portland, OR
Challenge
Due to excessive moisture coming in from the outside the concrete was flaking and crumbling off. Not only that but due to the shelf built around the lower section of the basement water would pool along the shelf before draining down the walls and to the basement floor.
Solution
In order to attach the clanspace to the walls our crew first had to have a firm and smooth surface to attach the cleanspace to. Our crews brushed off the flaking concrete and in some areas patched and replaced the concrete when one are in particular crumbled all the way to the exterior leaving a gaping exposed hole. Drainage mat was placed under the cleanspace to allow for this external water to move below the cleanspace along the shelf and behind our newly installed bright wall panels to the drain line at the lowest level.
