Crafting a Solution to Handle Water Intrusion - Troutdale, OR
Challenge
It can be tempting to do home projects on your own, especially when so many tools are available to see how others did their own home work. However, there are some situations where it truly is best to find a professional. This homeowner had found a DIY sump pump and laid down a store bought 6 mil vapor barrier. While it was all done well, it was not a system made to handle the amount of water this homes region sees. Because it isn't made for the amount of water present, the sump pump would flood, and water would climb over the vapor barrier, bringing with it dirt and debris. They called up John's Waterproofing for a solution that was crafted to address their homes needs.
Solution
To fully combat the homes needs, we removed the vapor barrier, DIY sump pump, and debris. We then installed a full encapsulation system including a perforated pipe drain system, TripleSafe sump pump, TerraBlock insulation, CleanSpace vapor barrier, and SaniDry Dehumidifier. The homeowner is thrilled with how much cleaner their crawlspace is, and so happy that it can withstand the issues their home sees.
