What lies beneath
This house is picture perfect, like many that we see. The foundation tells another story though.
Crawlspace Access
Many crawlspaces are accessed through a closet (much like this one was).
Beams with mold
The dark on the floor joists is mold spores in the wood from years of humidity. The dried dirt shows places where water and mud reside in wetter times.
Falling insulation
The drooping and falling insulation in this space is evidence of wet insulation that has begun to fall over time and repeated moisture exposure.
Typical crawlspace in Oregon
This is a pretty common scene in most crawlspaces. Fallen or missing insulation, wet caked dirt mud and often water are the normal situation we see in crawlspaces.
