Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Charcoal Radon Test Shows High Levels of Radon - Vancouver, WA
This homeowner had purchased a charcoal radon test kit from a local hardware store. They found from this that the homes radon levels sat around 4.4 pCi/L, which is well above the recommended healthy level of under 1.0 pCi/L. They called up John's Waterproofing to get a quote for a radon mitigation system. Once installed we left a charcoal test kit to recheck that the radon levels are now within the recommended levels, and sure enough the home now has a radon level of 0.6 pCi/L!
Interior Location for the System
A location is selected in the basement for the mitigation pipe to be installed
After the pipe is installed
The mitigation pipe is installed so it can pull the radon gases out from under the foundation
Exterior Location Planning
The mitigation system will pop out of the home to release the radon gases to disperse
Radon Pipe
The pipe must extend above the home so the gases can be released into the air and not trapped in the home
