Challenge
This home had some crawlspace issues, water was creeping up in the same spots every time they laid down a new 6 Mil vapor barrier from the store. They tried overlapping it differently, but year after year, they found puddling in the same general areas. After trying to find a solution on their own, they knew they needed some help to find a solution that would actually solve the issue.
Solution
We sent out a design specialist to do a full inspection, and provide a crafted solution to address the homes waterproofing needs. The homeowners understood that due to some local high water tables, water would keep pushing, the best solution was a full encapsulation. This would provide the home with proper insulation, fully seal the space off from any water issues, and would even turn their crawlspace into viable storage space since the crawlspace was pretty high. The homeowners were ready to give it a shot. Now year after year, we send a service technician to check on the encapsulation and the home remains dry and healthy. We change out the filter on the dehumidifier, do a thorough walkthrough to check for any damage, and clean out the sump pump. The homeowners are so happy with how low-maintenance their crawlspace is, and they are thrilled with how it has lowered their energy bills and keeps their air healthier throughout the home.
