This homes basement was getting ready to be finished and the homeowners knew it had a moisture issue, that had become a flooding issue. The owners can cleared the space out and had been vacuuming the water to keep the levels down and then running fans to help the space dry out. They called in John's to get the space waterproofed before they finished it up. We installed a full WaterGuard drain system, TripleSafe sump pump, ThermalDry radiant vapor barrier for the walls and a SaniDry dehumidifier. Now the space is ready to be finished and to protect their basement investment.
If water gets on top of a vapor barrier, it ends up defeating the purpose, the homeowner knew their crawlspace needed a full encapsulation to keep it waterproofed.
This homeowner called us when they had concerns about the standing water that was evident in their crawlspace. They were interested in a sump pump and new vapor barrier. After the inspection, some wood rot was pointed out, and we discussed encapsulation to protect their home. They were excited to get their home dry and healthy, protecting it in the long run!
This home had fiberglass installed in the crawl space. Knowing that is was meant to be sealed in, the installers had attached a material to help hold it in place. However, moisture was still getting in. And critters got in, pulling out batches of the fiberglass and making a general mess in this space. To get the crawl space properly insulated, we put in a full encapsulation.
