The owner of this property had reached out to John's Waterproofing in 2018 about water coming into their basement. They thought the problem would be able to go away on its own and decided to cancel the basement waterproofing scheduled. In 2023, they reached out again about the same issue but still weren't ready to commit doing the project with the hopes it would once again dry up and go away. After contacting John's Waterproofing a third time in 2024, they decided to do the basement waterproofing as the issue persisted each year during rainy seasons. Now with the basement having a significant amount of water damage, we suggested installing a drainage system. This involves installing a perforated pipe along the interior perimeter of the basement that can collect and push water to a TripleSafe sump pump. This sump pump is designed to safely collect water and push it away from a homes foundation, thus protecting against floods or moisture damage. To protect the foundation walls, the CleanSpace wall system is installed. This is a 20 mil thick woven vapor barrier that is designed to seal the basement walls and prevent water from seeping in. After completing the basement waterproofing, the owner was impressed and could see the difference in their newly dry basement.
Thermaldry basement wall systems keep the basement dry and warm!
This homes window well was concrete and water was getting through it, and needed to be upgraded. Due to landscaping the ground level had been risen, to accommodate this the homeowners had added a layer of bricks. But water had made its way through the porous material and the carpet in their finished basement was getting damp by this window in particular. To upgrade it we installed drainage for the window well that will feed into the basement waterproofing system. And the well itself was upgraded to a WellDuct system.
This homeowner reached out to John's Waterproofing after realizing that water was getting into their basement through the walls every time there was heavy rainfall. They wanted a solution that would protect their basement throughout the wet seasons and still look nice. They agreed that doing a basement waterproofing system would perfect to solve their problems. This is when we install a drainage system along the interior perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is a pipe system that goes beneath the foundation floors that catches water and gives it a safe passageway to flow through without getting into the basement. It is lined with gravel to filter the water through, preventing clogging and is covered over with concrete to be discreet. It connects to a TripleSafe sump pump that works to push the water from the WaterGuard out and away from the homes foundation. We then installed a CleanSpace wall vapor barrier. This white liner gives the appearance of a clean look while also protecting the walls from moisture. It is made with woven fibers that seal to the walls with waterproof tape. This vapor barrier guides moisture from the walls down to the drainage system to be pushed away from the home. With all these steps completed, this basement is no longer at risk of water seeping through during any season and also has a clean look for the homeowner.
