This customer called with concerns about their crawlspace. Water had been leaking into the crawlspace and leaving puddles all over the vapor barrier. We installed a CleanSpace Encapsulation system with a new Super Sump pump that will pump any water out of the space into a safe distance away from the home. Now they don't have to worry about sitting water under their home again.
When you have a crawl space that isn't encapsulated you lose a significant amount of heat. The air leaks out of the HVAC system and flows out of your vents. This customer decided to get a crawl space encapsulation and during the first winter, they noticed a 25% savings in their heating costs.
This home had its water heater in the crawlspace, and it was exposed to the cold and the heat throughout the years. To regulate this temperature and reduce the water temperature fluctuations, a crawlspace encapsulation was done.
These homeowners contacted us after they noticed some parts of their floors were bouncy and felt unstable. We went out and thoroughly inspected the crawl space and found signs of active water and noticed a lot of the posts had wood rot due to long term water damage. The posts were no longer offering adequate support since the water damaged the bottom of them, separating it from the footing. After the inspection, we met with the homeowners and went over the bests options to permanently address these issues. The homeowners decided to move forward with a full encapsulation. Before encapsulation, we ensure the space is safe by installing our SmartJack system, which are our high-capacity adjustable supplemental steel piers designed to stop settling and raise the floor up and offer stable support. This system makes sure the floor is even and stable so these homeowners will can be sure their crawl space is protected from water intrusion for years to come.
This crawl space would regularly flood, and the fiberglass and vapor barrier needed to be replaced to keep up with this. To end the flooring the homeowners were ready to get a drainage system and sump pump to ensure the flooding would no longer occur. This will help prolong the life of the 6 Mil vapor barrier and allow the homeowners to not have to replace it as often.
