This homes crawl space had wet spots over the old vapor barrier. The moisture content in the air had led to the old fiberglass insulation droop. To help the space become dry and healthy, the homeowners called upon John's Waterproofing. We did a full inspection and went over how an encapsulation could transform the space into a dry, stable, and healthy space.
With puddles and high humidity concerns, this homes crawl space was in need of a serious upgrade. To get it fixed up and cared for over the coming years, a full encapsulation system was accepted and scheduled. To begin we cleared the space out, removing the old fiberglass, vapor barrier, and other miscellaneous debris. We than installed a full drainage system with a sump pump. These systems work together to collect and direct water safely out and away from the homes foundation. We than install TerraBlock along the dirt floor, providing insulation. Over this we install CleanSpace, a 20 Mil thick woven vapor barrier that is backed with a 25 year warranty against rips and tears. To address the humidity a SaniDry dehumidifier is installed, and we than complete the spaces insulation using spray foam along the foundation walls.
This old vapor barrier had crusted on mud. The space hadn't been checked in years, and the homeowners wanted a solution that could keep up with their waterproofing needs. To address this we installed a full crawlspace encapsulation.
If water gets on top of a vapor barrier, it ends up defeating the purpose, the homeowner knew their crawlspace needed a full encapsulation to keep it waterproofed.
